This clock serves it’s purpose adequately enough, however the design and placement of all those buttons is lacking. Most people reach out and turn off their alarm in the dark. It is difficult to find the off button. You have to feel your way around the top of the unit. The “Off” button should have been more protruding or pronounced or placed elsewhere not to be confused with all the other buttons next to it.

The only reason I bought this clock is because it was supposed to have a gradual wake feature. I really wanted an alarm that started quieter and then gradually got louder. This doesn’t do that at all. Totally untrue. The buttons are so hard to figure out that it’s actually funny. I don’t have a hard time figuring out electronic stuff, and I’ve never had any trouble figuring out an alarm clock. You should never have to read the instruction manual to set an alarm–much less refer back to it more than once. Just for example, one of the two big circular buttons on the clock with four selector arrows around the outside has these options, going clockwise: Vol +, Al 2/P+, Vol-, Al 1/P-. Seriously. It’s pretty hilarious. Who on earth designed this thing? It does actually tell time. And the alarm does go off if you learn how to set it. So there’s that.

The pros: The time auto set function works better than I expected. The con: The sound is awful. The speaker is tinny and lacks any sort of warm tones. I bought it specifically for the line-in function and the sound from the radio and from an mp3 was awful. Don’t buy it. |
